UN cERTIFIED PLASTIC PACKAGING

Packaging may be both barrier and conventional HDPE but are more typically non barrier HDPE.

They are certified to the UN Standard for the transportation of dangerous goods in one of three defined groups, with Group One being the most stringent, and Group Three the least. The certification process includes, drop testing with cap applied from a specific height, hydraulic testing to a specific pressure, and stack testing over a defined time and top load pressure.

If certified the UN packaging will then be able to used to carry dangerous goods, along with an approved cap/closure. The UN markings on the packaging then shows the mechanical performance. Further testing must be undertaken for UN Chemical approval in one of five ‘model liquids’ groups.
