HDPE BARRIER CONTAINER

iPackChem offers a range of high-quality HDPE barrier containers that utilize advanced barrier technologies to provide effective protection against harmful chemicals and contaminants. These technologies include Advanced in Mold Fluorination, Post Fluorination, Plasma Fluorination, and Coextrusion.

Fluorination technologies work by replacing hydrogen ions in the polymer chain with fluorine ions, creating an effective barrier against chemicals that would not be contained in conventional HDPE containers.

Advanced in Mold Fluorination is the most consistent and compliant barrier technology and meets all recent proposals to restrict the use of PFAS. On the other hand, Coextrusion involves the combination of multiple layers of materials to provide a barrier, with HDPE typically being combined with PE/PA or EVOH.

While Coextruded containers are effective barriers, they are less easy to recycle due to their multi-material composition, which can also result in extra recycling costs. In contrast, Fluorinated containers are mono-material barrier containers that can be easily recycled in the same way as conventional HDPE containers.
